Kids Draw Architecture 2019 Spring

April 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Almost 30 years ago, the Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara organized a small group of architects and artists for a common goal: to inspire and educate children to experience architecture through drawing it. By encouraging kids to express their creativity through sketching, a free public‐outreach program was developed to teach about the complexity and importance of architecture.
Building upon this legacy, the Kids Draw Architecture program is expanding throughout California.

AIA San Joaquin has held a Kids Draw Architecture event for two years, typically in the month of October to celebrate the month long ‘Arch-tober’ series of events.  This spring, we bring another session of Kids Draw Architecture to the community to close National Architecture Week and the week of local events to celebrate.

AIA chapters throughout the state have offered this program in their local communities, highlighting a local architectural gem. This program provides a community‐based activity while exposing young people to architects and architecture in their local professional community.

AIA California Council is pleased to be working with AIA San Joaquin to make this event possible again in Fresno for the 2019 Kids Draw Architecture spring event.

Join local Architects and Artists to Draw the downtown Fresno City Hall.
